Each parent will be responsible for the financial support of any minor children (18 or younger). The amount of support is determined by the joint income of the parties, the number of minor children of the marriage and the Child Support Guidelines.

Domestic Violence Injunctions

"Restraining orders" or injunctions against domestic violence are legal orders put in place to protect you from physical harm.  If you have been a victim of physical violence or feel there is a realistic threat of violence from your spouse, domestic partner or your child's parent, you should contact an attorney or the police as soon as possible.  A temporary injunction will be granted for 15 days, and a hearing will be held to determine if the injunction will be permanent.

All too often domestic violence is present in contentious divorces.  It is a serious and sometimes deadly issue.
